The Mark Lay Foundation supports three charities that played a role in Mark’s life. These charities will benefit from our fundraising efforts through annual donations. They all carry out fantastic work either to local communities or across the nation. We are extremely proud to support them.

Mark had a great relationship with St Catherine’s Hospice. He was the face of their 2016 London marathon ‘Will you run for me?’ campaign. Mark also co-ran events in aid of St Catherine’s and in 2016 opened the Barns Green race where St Catherine's featured as the charity partner. As a keen runner himself St Catherine's was always Mark’s charity of choice. St Catherine’s Hospice is there for people when life comes full circle by providing expert hospice care, for people in West Sussex and East Surrey.

Mark was awarded the title of Macmillan Fundraising Ambassador in 2017 for his support in raising money and awareness for Macmillan. Mark raised over £30,000 with events across the South East and in 2016 he saw the shops, restaurants and pubs in Arundel taking part in 'Paint the Town Green' with live music and stalls. Right from the moment you are diagnosed Macmillan are there through people’s treatment and beyond, they are a source of support, and give inspiration to help people feel more like themselves.

St Wilfrid's Hospice is where Mark was cared for in his final days. The love and support they gave not just Mark, but the whole family was second to none. The hospice provided a beautiful balance of professionalism and compassion over the period that Mark was registered with the hospice up until today where they still support the family with their ongoing grief. St Wilfrid’s Hospice is an independent local charity and, for 30 years, has been caring for local people.
