This is Mark’s story.
Mark was diagnosed with terminal cancer in October 2013 at the young age of 42. It was an overwhelming blow to such a happy, little family. Mark had bowel cancer and it had spread to the liver due to the aggressive nature of the cancer.
Like a hero, Mark underwent several surgeries and over 50 rounds of chemotherapy all so that he could spend more time with his family.
Mark sadly lost his battle in August 2017, aged 46.
Here is Mark’s family telling his story and introducing the Mark Lay Foundation.
Mark was a huge advocate for fundraising and spent a lot of his time whilst in treatment raising funds for charities close to his heart. It only seems fitting that, as a tribute to Mark, the charity will tie together two of his biggest passions; fundraising and of course, family. Nothing was more important to Mark than family.
